You have got a job opportunity, how to make the most out of it?  We have got a few suggestions:

1) Preparation is the key: not only should you fully familiarise yourself with the role and the job description, you should also research into the company history, interviewer, team by means of linked in and company website.  Good recruiters should also be able to give you tips on the questions company usually ask and other supplemental information

2) Good motivation for the role and location: For company and recruiter, motivation is as important as the candidates' calibre as they do not want to hire someone only work for a few months then resign.   During interview, interviewers usually ask 'why are you interested in the role'?  If the process includes relocation, the company will also likely to ask 'why do you want to relocate to this country/city'? , 'is your family moving with you together', etc.  What they want to find out is whether you are prepared to take this role as your long term career.

3) If you have any doubt about the role, ask questions: interview is a two way process, i.e. it is not only for company to get information from candidate, but to allow candidate to know more about the role and company.  Therefore, if candidates have any questions about the role, e.g. team size, career path, etc., they should feel free to clarify with the interviewers.

However, bear in mind that you should ask right questions to right person, for administrative questions e.g. company benefits, you should ask HR instead of the BU.

4) How to negotiate salary package: Interviewers may ask your current and expected salary on interview, therefore you should explain clearly about what your current package covers: which can include discretionary bonus, commission, shares options, etc.  If you are quite clear about your expected salary you can discuss with the company directly, otherwise you can leave it to the recruiter to negotiate on your behalf.

5) Smile and relax: company does not only want to hire a competent staff , they also want someone a good team player.  So you can score extra points to smile and show yourself as a friendly individual.
